- Never share your username or password.
- Prefer strong passwords containing letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Avoid using commemorative dates or common names.
- Update your password regularly.
- Use a second authentication factor (token, SMS, or apps) to protect your account.
Suspicious Websites
- Always check if the URL begins with “https://” and displays a padlock icon without warning messages.
- Do not trust websites that promise easy profits or “solutions for everything.” When in doubt, contact the institution directly.
- Avoid clicking on pop-up ads or suspicious links on the internet.
- Keep your device updated and use reliable antivirus software.
Your Card
- Never share photos of your card online, as this may enable fraudulent actions.
- When entering card information on websites, check if the URL begins with “https://” and if it belongs to the company where you are purchasing.
- If you receive any call regarding purchases made with your card, take the company’s name, hang up, and contact the institution yourself.
Fraudulent Boletos (Brazilian bank slips)
- Always check if the boleto displays the Banco SEMEAR name and brand at the top.
- Verify the payment date.
- Confirm that the boleto is issued in your name and that the amount matches the payment due.
Fake SMS and Emails
- Pay attention to messages from unknown senders — do not reply or click suspicious links.
- Be wary of messages promising unusual gains or facilities. Contact the institution directly to confirm.
- Watch for poor grammar or misspellings.
- Keep your devices and antivirus updated when accessing banking services.
